Danny was born in Fountain Valley, California and moved to Houston, Texas after he realized whataburger was far superior to in-N-out. He a received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT Austin, he conducted research in Prof. Guangbin Dong’s group where he worked on palladium catalyzed C-H functionalization. After college he realized that there is more to the life than steak, bbq, and C-H bonds, and decided to move to Berkeley and join the Maimone lab and make some C-C bonds. When not in lab, he likes to watch critically acclaimed television and movies, eat korean food, and support the local breweries (ideally all at the same time).
