The goal of the present research effort is to provideincreased understanding of and quantitative
information about the mechanism ofpolymer induced
turbulent drag reduction._ To realize this goal, aquantification of flow transitions using well
characterized dilutepolymer solutions is studied in
flow generated between concentric, rotatingcylinders:
Taylor-Couette (TC) flow. (Figure 1)
