Ken Mukai

Ken was born in Tabuse-cho (Japan), a tiny town surrounded by both mountain and sea. After he obtained his B.Eng. at Meiji University, he joined Prof. Kanomata's Group at Waseda University as a temporary employee. During this period, he became passionate about "Total Synthesis of Complex Molecules" so he decided to start his Ph.D. studies under the guidance of Prof. Masayuki Inoue at the University of Tokyo, where Ken has been hugging highly oxygenated steroids for 5 years. After he obtained his Ph.D. in January 2015, Ken decided to have some more fun with complex molecules, this time containing lots of nitrogen, here in the Sarpong group.
