Paul Karayan’s modest upbringing in Los Angeles instilled the conservative values that he holds dear. Besides being a vegetarian, he attended Duke in the next greatest state of North Carolina. His many distinctions include being president of his house and being voted most likely to say “****” during his Nobel Prize acceptance speech. Along the way, he also picked up some chemistry, working for the up and coming chemists Bob Grubbs, Mark Davis, and Ross Widenhoefer.
