Summer, 2001 Granite Bay, CA (upwind of Sacramento, CA)

A campaign was conducted in Granite Bay, CA from July 18th through September 15th, 2001 to study the Sacramento urban plume before it reaches Blodgett Forest Research Station. Granite Bay, California is situated midway between Sacramento and Blodgett Forest. Measurements were taken of NO2, total alkyl-nitrates, total peroxy-nitrates and HNO3 as well as ozone, CO, hydrocarbons and meteorological data in cooperation with the Goldstein Group of the Environmental Science and Policy Management Department. The purpose of this campaign was to characterize ozone production in the central valley as it approaches the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
