Deuterium Spectra on AM-400 and AMX-400
Deuterium spectra must be run un-locked, it is not possible to lock an deuterium
and lock on it at the same time.
The AM-500 drifts about 1 Hz/hr (deuterium), so you probably want to use one of
the 400 MHz spectromteters.
Remember to change all the cables and filters back after the experiment, please.
Please Fill In the LOG book now, stating that you changed cables for 2H NMR!
To run deuterium spectra, first set the field by manually locking on
CDCl3 (Standard Sample) or C6D6. Press the "Lock" AND the "Sweep" buttons to
turn both off.
Next, change the Preamp-Probe wiring (essentially the same on the AM-400 and
the AMX-400):
1) Disconnect the cable and filter box on the probe's Port labeled "2H".
2) Disconnect the cable from the Probe's labeled
"13C-31P-19F" or "QNP", and
connect that cable to the 2H port.
3) If the "2H-Stop -400-" filter box is installed on the Preamp Housing
"X-Coil" connector, it MUST be removed.
Read the parameter file.
To check that everything is working, take a few scans with the standard sample.
At this time, you might want to reference CDCl3.
Change the sample, and check/adjust the receiver gain.
Parameter Files
AMX-400
The parameter file "h2qn05.400" (all lower case) contains starting parameters.
Read it with the rpar command.
h2qn05.400 Parameters:
----------------------
90 deg pulse: 160 usec
RG: 256
Pulse Prog: 1pulse
NS: 8
Proton Decoupling
For proton decoupling, change the pusle program to "bbdec" or "powgate" on the
AMX-400, BBDDEC.AU or POWGATE.AU on the AM-400/500.
