It is now routine to prepare Bose-Einstein condensates in laboratory settings. I'm interested in the detailed many-body effects of these systems are they are driven away from equilibrium. Under what conditions does simple condensation persist? By what mechanisms does fragmentation and/or depletion occur? Is it possible to either suppress or control these process?
