My current research interest is in quantum machine learning -- specifically using hybrid quantum-classical algorithms to take advantage of the computational power of small numbers of noisy qubits. By learning how to integrate the extremely power methods of classical machine learning with the unique abilities of current quantum computers, we can better understand how to create a similar symbiosis as fully fault tolerant quantum computers are developed.
Tensor networks have proven to be a surprisingly versatile method for dealing with high dimensional spaces, including classical machine learning feature spaces. Therefore I am quite interested in using tensor networks to optimize quantum machine learning algorithms.
