Issues:

The people who emailed the survey need to send a reminder to their classes. Joanna will compile the offers from other departments and cost of living for the next meeting with Graves and Rocio.

The invited speakers for the speaker series are: Bruce Alberts, David Hollinger, and Clair Brown. We are waiting for confirmation from Bruce Alberts, then David and Clair will be invited.

The ChE Graduate Student Life Fund is accepting donations and we can spend the money however we'd like (with only minor restrictions). The best way to raise funds is to ask recent alums if they would be willing to donate. Everyone should ask recent alums from their labs about donating to the fund. We will also discuss putting a notice about the fund in future department communications to alumni. Lastly, we are trying to get confirmation about the 3 to 1 matching gifts.

I will email Melissa, Dana, and Sarah (I think this counts?) about being willing to host Jorge and Erica for lab tours and questions about the department during their visit on Oct 30th. I imagine it should only be about an hour. Please let me know if you are NOT willing to assist. Peter and Laurie also are willing to assist on that Friday. I will email Rocio on Monday confirming the hosts.

Dana needs to assign people to unfinished pages on the website, including a first semester checklist (maybe a 1st and second year). The person in charge can create the page in a goole doc, then everyone can edit once it has been created. Then Dana and John can add the info to the site.
