There are two main types of campus computer labs (Map of facilities).

• General Access Facilities are open for any registered student.
• Instructional Facilities are reserved for class use. You must obtain a username and password from a class in which you are enrolled to use the Instructional Facilities.

The closest facilities to the College of Chemistry are the General Access Facility on the first floor of Tan Hall or the Instructional Facility in 106 Latimer Hall. Each facility has general software available for use, but if you want to use specialized programs like MATLAB, you will need to use the Instructional Facilities. None of the computer labs on campus provide very good hours, but the Instructional Facilities (schedule) are usually open longer than the General Access Facilities (schedule) during the Fall and Spring semesters.

A third computer lab on campus is the Open Computing Facility. This lab provides free website hosting, email, and printing.
