in 16 ml 0.01M NaOH, dilute to 250 ml
Methyl Orange -- 0.04%
pH range: 3.2(red) - 4.4(yellow)
preparation: dissolve 0.1g
in 250 ml water
4.8M HCl prep: dilute 1.6 liters 12M HCl to 4 liters.
6.0M NaOH - mw: 40.01, 50% w/w NaOH has a density of about 1.54, and
is about 19.5M.
preparation:
40x6x4 = 960 grams NaOH diluted to 4 liters, or
960gr x (2 gr 50% NaOH / 1 gr NaOH) / 1.54 =
1246 ml 50% NaOH, or
4 x 6 = n x 19.5 => n = 1231 ml 50% NaOH
(1240 ml diluted to 4 liters)

Add this to tall TT.
Using long stem funnel and glass rod as a valve,
carefully add 900ml of the more dense 6M NaOH
so that it accumulates under the HCl layer
maintaining a clean bilayer.
