The College of Chemistry assesses a Course Materials Fee (formerly -- Lab Materials Fee). This fee varies from approximately $20 to $100, depending on the course. These courses typically assess CMF: Chemistry 1A, 1B, 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B, 5, 105, 108, 112A, 112B, 115, 125, and C144.
The purpose of the Course Materials Fee, as set forth by the University, is to offset expendable materials costs in the lab courses. The CMF accomplishes this purpose.

During locker check-in, you will sign a description of laboratory policy regarding locker equipment. This description includes an agreement to return custody (whenever you leave the course) of your locker in the same condition as it was when it was issued to you. Missing or unusable equipment is to be checked out from the storeroom, and it is understood that you will be billed a reasonable amount for this replacement equipment. You also will have agreed to be present to assist with the restoration, inspection, and return of your locker equipment. If you fail to assist with locker checkout, staff employees will assist in your place, and you will be assessed a fee to offset the cost of this service.
