Tyler received his B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. At UNR. he worked with Professor Thomas Kidd on elucidating the role of Dscam and Robo on axon guidance in the developing Drosophila nervous system. He then worked with Professor Jason Shearer on spectroscopic properties of Ni-SOD peptide mimics. In 2016, Tyler became a joint student between the Chang and Marletta labs and is working on the biochemistry of copper-containing proteins. When not in lab, you can find him snowboarding in Tahoe, gardening, or playing video games.
