Eligibility and Application Process
Eligibility
You are eligible to apply to the Chemical Biology Graduate Program if
- You have satisfied the requirements for an undergraduate degree in one of the following: chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
- You are interested in research at the Chemistry and Biology Interface.
- You are accepted to one of the four Berkeley Departments listed below.
How to Apply
- Apply and get accepted to one of our four participating departments. Specific application information and requirements can be found on their departmental websites listed below. Please state your desire to explore chemical biology and participate in CBGP somewhere in the application to your home department.
- Once you decide to come to Berkeley, send an e-mail to chembio@berkeley.edu with CBGP APPLICATION as the subject. Please state your desire to be considered for the program and a paragraph explaining why you are a good fit for the program. You do not need to fill out a CBGP specific application; your original application to your home department will be used for CBGP admission purposes.
- Candidates will be notified of acceptance during the summer. The number of students accepted each year is determined by funding and the applicant pool. We generally average 10 students per incoming class.
If you have any questions about this process, please e-mail chembio@berkeley.edu
