Focus of the Center for Analytical Biotechnology

Emerging technologies continue to drive new applications in biology and medicine. Of particular relevance to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries are development of new instrumentation and methods in mass spectrometry and NMR, which are represented by the groups of Evan Williams and Alex Pines; labeling, separations and microfabrication by Richard Mathies; electrochemical-based sensors by Marcin Majda; novel biochemical synthetic methods and nanoscale probes by the groups of Carolyn Bertozzi and Paul Alivisatos; and new polymers for separation and molecular recognition by Jean Fréchet.
